Explain procedures and give instructions to patients and family members to maximize test quality. Determine x-ray techniques and make adjustments for trauma patients. Document settings and types of radiographs. Assist patients onto tables and position them for procedures. Apply protective devices and secure patients in place. Perform routine diagnostic exams (skeletal, chest, abdominal, and extremity studies) and ensure prompt reporting of emergency radiographs. Conduct other diagnostic and treatment procedures as directed, including electrocardiography, injections, minor laboratory procedures (e.g., phlebotomy), oxygen administration, spirometry, wound care, CPR, medication dispensation, emergency first aid, minor surgical assistance, and visual acuity testing.

Organize exam rooms, set up for specific procedures, and perform general cleaning and upkeep. Work with other departments to coordinate patient care, including scheduling tests, referrals, obtaining authorizations, billing, and medical records. Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, processing patient charges, scheduling appointments, and initiating referrals. Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring adequate supplies and equipment. Stay updated on advances in radiographic technology and urgent care medicine.
