The Groom Tech in Training position is designed for individuals looking to embark on a career in grooming and bathing for pets. This role requires enrolling and completing the Level 1 training course, “Paragon,” a virtual distance learning program spanning 15 weeks. The program covers essential topics such as safety, pet first aid and CPR, pet handling skills, dog anatomy, and dog physiology. Training includes hands-on practice, book work, online exams, and photo submissions for grading.

Responsibilities

Successfully enroll and complete the Paragon training program within five weeks.
Perform safe pet handling and grooming tasks including:
- Bathing, drying, brushing, and combing all coat types.
- Nail trimming and ear cleaning.
- Preparatory hair trimming and basic clipper techniques.
Provide excellent customer service and professionalism.
Maintain and sanitize grooming tools and equipment.
Inspect animals for signs of health issues and communicate findings to pet owners.
Assist in generating business through customer engagement and appointment scheduling.

Qualifications

Comfortable and experienced in handling various breeds and temperaments of dogs and cats.
Must provide own grooming tools or willingness to purchase required tools.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
